On June 4, the National Energy Administration issued the Notice on Doing a Good Job in New Energy Consumption to Ensure the High-Quality Development of New Energy. Clarify the new coal power flexibility transformation, regulation of power supply, pumped storage, new energy storage and load side adjustment capacity scale, as well as inter-provincial mutual aid and other adjustment measures, and organize the implementation. Power generation enterprises should vigorously improve the new energy-friendly grid-connected performance, explore the application of long-term scale power prediction, network-type new energy, all kinds of new energy storage and other new technologies, improve the accuracy of new energy power prediction and active support capacity.
On June 5, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and other 15 departments jointly issued the "Implementation Plan on Establishing a Carbon Footprint Management System." The plan puts forward four main tasks, including establishing and improving the carbon footprint management system, building a multi-party carbon footprint work pattern, promoting international mutual trust in product carbon footprint rules, and continuously strengthening the capacity building of product carbon footprint, which are divided into 22 specific tasks. According to the document, by 2027, the carbon footprint management system will be initially established; by 2030, the carbon footprint management system will be more perfect and the application scenarios will be more abundant.
On June 4, the Hubei Xiaogan Development and Reform Commission issued a notice on publicly soliciting opinions and suggestions on the "Xiaogan City Carbon Peak Implementation Plan. The circular proposes to speed up the construction of a new type of power system. We will promote the development of clean coal power, cogeneration of heat and power, geothermal, new energy and energy storage, build a new power system with a gradually increasing proportion of new energy, and promote the optimal allocation of clean power resources on a large scale. Actively develop "new energy storage", source network load storage integration and multi-energy complementary, support distributed new energy rational allocation of energy storage system.
On June 5, the General Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province issued a notice on the Action Plan for Promoting the High-quality Development of Distributed Photovoltaic in Guangdong Province. The notice proposes to promote the installation of photovoltaic power generation systems in highway service areas, high-speed railway stations, port areas, docks, airports and other transportation stations, and build a transportation energy system of "distributed photovoltaic energy storage microgrid" in integrated transportation hubs according to local conditions. In highway service areas, urban commercial bodies, complexes, residential areas and other qualified places, relying on photovoltaic power generation, grid-connected microgrids and charging infrastructure to promote the construction of integrated optical storage and charging projects.

It is proposed to vigorously promote the development of wind power and photovoltaic power generation, build a clean energy base in the Hexi Corridor, promote the Jiuquan area to move towards a super-large base, build a Jin (Chang) Zhang (Ye) Wu (Wei) 10 million kilowatt wind photovoltaic base, and fully promote Longdong Comprehensive Energy base construction, development of decentralized wind power and distributed photovoltaic in Lanzhou, Dingxi, Gannan and other places. By 2025, the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption in the province will not be less than 20%, and electric energy will account for 30% of terminal energy consumption.
According to incomplete statistics in the energy electricity database, from January to May this year, there were 1166 industrial and commercial energy storage projects registered in Zhejiang Province, with a total scale of over 0.94GW/2.28GWh, involving a total investment of 3.823 billion yuan. 1071 projects are planned to be completed within 2024, with a total scale of over 696.99MW/1488.86MWh. A total of 588 enterprises will participate in the investment and operation of these 1166 registered industrial and commercial storage projects from January to May, among them, there are 575 local registered enterprises in Zhejiang.
On June 7, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the operation of the national lithium-ion battery industry from January to April 2024. According to the lithium battery industry standard announcement enterprise information and industry association estimates, January-April national lithium battery production of more than 282GWh, an increase of 17.5. Tesla's energy storage business model is to purchase cells from suppliers and assemble them into a complete set of energy storage systems. According to people familiar with the matter, Fodi is the second supplier of Tesla's Shanghai energy storage plant, with a supply share of more than 20% (the first supplier is Ningde era).
According to SMM, the global energy storage market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 23% from 2024 to 2030. During this period, the global energy storage demand will increase significantly, and by 2030, the total energy storage demand will reach 828GWh. This forecast shows that despite the trend of slowing growth in the short term, in the long run, the energy storage market is still full of opportunities and development space.
